There are four meetings across the UK and Ireland on Thursday, two National Hunt and two Flat.
The first port of call is Thurles (1.53-4.53pm), where the seven-race card includes Grade 3 and Listed action. Lingfield Park (2.15-4.45) stages the other jump racing, with Chelmsford (2.05-4.35) and Newcastle (5.00-8.30) providing the Flat fare.
Our nap is a filly trained by John and Thady Gosden who travels to Newcastle with an excellent chance of maintaining that partnership’s impressive strike-rate at the course.

Horse racing tips: Newcastle 5.00
It’s always worth taking note when the training team of John and Thady Gosden sends horses up to Newcastle. They don’t send many but when they do they usually run well – and the father-and-son combination have a 36 per cent strike-rate at the venue.
Their filly SEA ICE has shown some promise on her three runs. On her most recent start she was beaten by stablemate Kaleidoscope, who looks a very talented filly. She was clear of everything else, though, and on that form, she has enough to win one of these maiden contests.
Her dam was a winner over a mile and a half, so today’s step up in trip to 1m 2f should suit her. She is the most experienced filly in the field and has the best form, so a win should be expected.

Horse racing tips: Newcastle 6.00
Sea Ice may not be the only success for the Gosden team, who also send their progressive sprinter COVER UP to Gosforth Park for this 5f dash.
The four-year-old is 2-2 on the all-weather this season and a hat-trick looks likely. He is still improving with every run and looks to be some way ahead of the handicapper with a mark of 88.
Nothing has been able to trouble him in either of his all-weather successes and a 5lb rise for his course-and-distance success last time out will not be enough to stop him bolting up here.

Horse racing tips: Thurles 2.23
This 2m 6f novice chase looks likely to be a match between Gordon Elliott-trained HARMONYA MAKER and English raider Marsh Wren, and it is the former who is preferred.
She won a Grade 2 novice chase here last month and will carry a hefty 10lb penalty for her success, but she is the best horse in the race and has enough ability to win this despite carrying top weight.
Marsh Wren is rated 131 in the UK and she still may be a bit better than that, but her form does not look as strong as her rival and it is going to be tough for her to win on away soil.
Course form could prove key here and a similar level of performance to that which she produced here last month should be enough to get the win for Harmonya Maker.
