In recent years, traveling to other countries specifically for shopping has become increasingly popular. Shopping tours provide an opportunity for a person to relax, relieve stress, have a good time, get joy and satisfaction from the purchases made. Basically, shopping can be done in any country you visit. However, there are still a number of tourist destinations, which seem the most attractive in terms of shopping. These countries have optimal conditions for shopping, based on the cost of things, their exclusivity, as well as the variety of goods offered and the discounts offered. Well, let’s take a closer look at the best cities to go shopping.

UAE

Shopping tourism in the United Arab Emirates can bring incomparable pleasure. This country is well known for its free trade zone, characterized by very low import duties on goods, which determines their low cost in local stores and shopping centers. The best city for shopping is Dubai, which has all the major stores in the main streets. It is possible to go shopping in the UAE every day except for Friday, as it is a day off and few stores will be open. In Dubai, you can buy almost everything, from clothes and shoes of popular brands to household appliances, jewelry and unique products made of gold.

For shopping to be comfortable and enjoyable, it is important to take care also about transportation, so that you do not have to pull heavy bags to the nearest bus stop. Moreover, you can combine business with pleasure and rent a car for the time of shopping. Perhaps you can even opt for a VIP car rental to fully enjoy the pleasure of the shopping. Thus, turning to hiring companies, you can stay mobile and save time in order to visit more stores in the city, by having an automobile at your own disposal.

Italy

Surely, at the top of the list of the best countries for shopping is held by Italy, which is home to many popular clothing brands. In Italy, it is best to go to Milan, which is considered one of the fashion capitals of the world and is home to hundreds, boutiques, stores and retail outlets. Also in Milan it is worth paying attention to buying items of clothing, shoes and stylish accessories, for which the famous Italian designers are so famous.

France

This is another place that was literally created for shopping lovers. The country of fashion, elegance and style has a huge number of boutiques, shopping centers and outlets that offer a wide range of exclusive fashion items for every taste and purse. The best shopping in France can be found in Paris, where you can get a collection of famous designers and exclusive products.

USA

If there is a need to upgrade your electronic and household appliances, it is best to purchase them in America. Here you can buy the iPhone or other new products from Apple for a much more modest price than in any other market. The best city for shopping in America is undoubtedly New York. There is a huge concentration of stores and shopping malls in this city center. The main stores are open on weekdays, but there are malls that welcome visitors around the clock, uninterrupted.

China

In recent years, China has become a very popular tourist destination for shopping lovers. In this country, the prices of clothing, electronics and some food products are lower than in Europe. The best shopping centers and markets can be found in Shanghai and Hong Kong. During summer sales in China, discounts on clothing, electronics and other items can be up to 70%. However, shopping in China is notable not only for the cheap prices, and the opportunity to buy a variety of souvenirs, figurines and silk products. Moreover, here you can purchase beautiful, original things made of porcelain, crystal and bamboo.

On the threshold of the New Year holidays and discounts, we suggest that you do not lose time, pick a destination and go shopping!

Miltiadis Tentoglou, Ewa Swoboda, Tom Walsh and Freweyni Hailu are among the global and continental medallists who will want to make a statement when they compete at the Czech Indoor Gala – this season’s second World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting – in Ostrava on Tuesday (30).

Following the opening World Indoor Tour Gold event in Astana on Saturday, the Czech city’s Atleticka hala will welcome athletes for its first meeting as part of the tour’s top tier.

They include Tentoglou, who has won Olympic, world and world indoor titles over the past few years and now aims to retain his crown at the World Athletics Indoor Championships Glasgow 24 in March. His campaign begins in Ostrava, where he will open his season against a field featuring Czech record-holder Radek Juska and his compatriot Petr Meindlschmid, plus Bulgaria’s world U20 silver medallist Bozhidar Saraboyukov and European bronze medallist Jules Pommery of France.

Tentoglou will have the meeting record of 8.21m in his sights when he returns on the hunt for a Czech Indoor Gala hat-trick following his victories in 2018 and 2020.

Like Tentoglou, New Zealand’s Walsh is a world indoor gold medallist, having claimed his crowns in Portland in 2016 and Birmingham in 2018. Unlike the Greek long jumper, however, Walsh has never competed at the Czech Indoor Gala, and despite having won the first of his four world indoor medal almost a decade ago, the meeting in Ostrava will be the Oceanian record-holder’s first ever indoor competition outside of the World Indoor Championships.

Walsh will have some strong competition looking to deny him a win on his season opener. The 2017 world champion and two-time Olympic bronze medallist, who threw his area record of 22.90m during the epic world final in Doha in 2019, faces home favourite Tomas Stanek, who won the European indoor title in 2021, plus 2022 European gold medallist Filip Mihaljevic of Croatia.

Another European gold medallist, 2018 outdoor and 2019 indoor champion Michal Haratyk of Poland, plus Jamaican record-holder Rajindra Campbell, Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi and USA’s 2022 NACAC champion Roger Steen are also in the line-up. Steen finished second in Astana on Saturday with a throw of 20.58m, while the competition in Ostrava offers a rematch between Enekwechi, Campbell and Mihaljevic, who respectively finished second, third and fourth behind world silver medallist Leonardo Fabbri at the World Indoor Tour Bronze meeting in Lodz on Saturday.

Slovenia’s world indoor bronze medallist Tina Sutej leads the entries for the women’s pole vault. The meeting record-holder, who cleared a national record of 4.82m to win her third title in Ostrava last year, will go up against Switzerland’s 2021 European indoor champion Angelica Moser, Italian record-holder Roberta Bruni and local favourite Amalie Svabikova.

Swoboda in sprint spotlight

The women’s 60m meeting record will be under threat when Polish record-holder Swoboda returns to the Czech Indoor Gala. The 2019 European indoor champion, who won in Ostrava in 2018 and set her national record of 6.99 in 2022, ran a world lead of 7.04 in Lodz on Saturday and a similar performance would see the eight-year-old meeting record of 7.10 tumble.

Ewa Swoboda in World Athletics Indoor Tour action (© Copernicus Cup)

She’s not the only one who could attack the record, however. The in-form Patrizia van der Weken of Luxembourg ran a national record of 7.09 last weekend and the field also features Jamaica’s Remona Burchell, Belgium’s Rani Rosius and joint Czech record-holder Karolina Manasova.

Swoboda’s compatriot Pia Skrzyszowska also heads to Ostrava off the back of a win. The 2021 winner in Ostrava clocked 7.85 in the heats and the same in the final to triumph in Lodz and this time faces another athlete who will be buoyed by recent results – Ireland’s Sarah Lavin, who set PBs of 7.93 and then 7.91 in Astana.

They are joined in Ostrava by Nadine Visser of the Netherlands, who holds the meeting record of 7.86, plus Finnish record-holder Reetta Hurske and USA’s Alaysha Johnson, who clocked 7.87 to win the Czech Indoor Gala in 2023 and went on to set a PB of 7.82 and win the US indoor title.

Like the women’s 60m hurdles, the men’s 60m features heats before the final and Britain’s European 100m bronze medallist Jeremiah Azu will look to repeat as champion after his victory last year in 6.58, a time just 0.02 off his PB.

Among his competition will be Italy’s Samuele Ceccarelli, who ran 6.47 en route to winning the European indoor title last year and clocked 6.65 in Dortmund last weekend, finishing fourth in a race won by Germany’s Joshua Hartmann, who ran 6.58 in the heats and 6.59 in the final there.

Home favourites Jan Veleba, who won at the Czech Indoor Gala in 2022, and national indoor champion Zdenek Stromsik also line up, as do 2019 European indoor champion Jan Volko and Japan’s Yoshihide Kiryu.

In the men’s 200m, Israel’s Blessing Afrifah will contest his second ever short track race over the distance, following the national record of 20.95 he ran on his debut in Metz last year. The 20-year-old, who clocked 19.96 to win the world U20 200m title in Cali in 2022, faces a field featuring Czech record-holder Ondrej Macik.

After finishing top two in the second of two 400m races in Astana on Saturday, Czechia’s world mixed relay bronze medallist Patrick Sorm and three-time world indoor champion Pavel Maslak will clash again. Sorm ran 47.01 ahead of Maslak’s 47.70 there and they will need to build on that if they are to hold off a field featuring national record-holder Matej Krsek and Hungarian record-holder Attila Molnar.

World 4x400m gold medallist Lieke Klaver set a 400m meeting record of 51.00 on her season opener in Ostrava last year and went on to claim European indoor silver. The programme features two 400m races and also among the entries are Poland’s 2018 European champion Justyna Swiety-Ersetic, Britain’s Jessie Knight, 2020 Czech Indoor Gala winner Lada Vondrova, her fellow world mixed 4x400m bronze medallist Tereza Petrzilkova and European U20 champion Lurdes Gloria Manuel.

Hailu and Meshesha in meeting’s mile debut

Ethiopia’s world indoor 800m silver medallist Freweyni Hailu and her compatriot Hirut Meshesha, the world indoor 1500m bronze medallist, will go head-to-head as the Czech Indoor Gala hosts a women’s mile race for the first time.

Hailu, who claimed silver in the mile at the World Athletics Road Running Championships Riga 23 in October, has a track mile PB of 4:14.79 set outdoors in Monaco last year, while Meshesha clocked 4:20.00 in Oslo in June. Both have experience of racing in Ostrava having previously competed at the city’s outdoor Golden Spike meeting.

Freweyni Hailu races in Torun

Joining them on the start line at the Atleticka hala will be Belgium’s 2021 European indoor 1500m champion Elise Vanderelst, Romania’s Claudia Bobocea, Sofia Thogersen of Denmark and Czech record-holder Simona Vrzalova.

The men’s 1500m meeting record of 3:35.93 was set by Britain’s Elliot Giles in 2022 and that could be a target for a field that features his compatriot Jake Heyward, the 2022 European silver medallist, plus Portugal’s Isaac Nader and Czech record-holder Filip Sasinek.

The men’s 800m entries include Czech athletes Filip Snejdr and Jakub Dudycha, the European U20 champion, as well as Poland’s 2021 European indoor silver medallist Mateusz Borkowski, Italy’s Catalin Tecuceanu, British champion Daniel Rowden and Botswana’s world sixth-place finisher Tshepiso Masalela, making his short track debut.

Do you really need specialist socks to go running? While you can technically hit the road in any old pair and still survive, the right socks come with a number of benefits (while the wrong ones can cause absolute havoc), so it is worth investing in a good pair to save your feet from future distress.

But what are the different types and how do you know what to buy? Below, we’ve answered your essential kit questions, plus keep scrolling for our pick of the best run socks, from blister-resistant anklets to compression socks.

The best running socks to buy for 2024

In a hurry? Here are the best running socks at a glance. Keep scrolling for the full list.

What is a running sock?

Whether you’re training for a marathon or stepping out for your very first mile, as a runner, looking after your feet is a must. But what exactly is a running sock and how do they differ from bog standard cotton options?

‘The right pair are vital for good performance, comfort and support, because they have been designed specifically to increase ventilation, wick moisture and offer support in all the right places,’ says Steve Paterson, people development and product trainer at Runners Need.

‘The importance of socks is often overshadowed by the quest to find the perfect pair of running shoes,’ he adds. ‘However, without the support of some high-quality socks, problems such as blisters, overheating and discomfort can persist.’

The main types of running socks

From ankle-high to super-thin socks, there are number of different types of running socks choose from, but they usually fall into the following categories:

  1. Waterproof socks: Fair weather runners will be pleased to hear you can buy waterproof running socks that are designed to keep your feet warm and dry in adverse conditions, by wicking the water away from your feet.
  2. Odour-repellent socks: Do your kicks get a bit stinky after a run? These help to keep feet cool and dry – and slightly less smelly – thanks to clever antibacterial technology.
  3. Compression socks: These are designed to gently squeeze your muscles to improve blood circulation, reduce tiredness and boost recovery time.
  4. Blister-free socks: Plagued by blisters? ‘These socks tend to use a two-layer system, as the potential for friction is reduced by the two layers of material moving against each other, rather than against your skin,’ says Paterson.

Help buying running socks

There are a few important factors to consider when shopping for run socks:

• Check the fabric

Just like your favourite running vest, your socks should be made from a breathable, quick-drying fabric to keep your feet dry as you clock up the miles. ‘It’s best to avoid cotton because it holds moisture and traps it against your skin, which causes blisters in the summer and coldness in the winter,’ says Paterson. ‘Socks which use technical synthetic materials instead will help to transport the sweat away from your skin.’

• Size counts

Your socks should be the same size as your running shoes. ‘Too big or too small can slide around and cause blisters,’ advises Paterson. ‘They should have a good fit, especially under the arch of the foot and around the heel. To make sure you have the right size, make sure that the heel portion of the socks perfectly lands on your heel without stretching.’

• Go seam-free

The devil is in the detail, as something as small as a seam could end up causing you considerable discomfort over a long distance. ‘Make sure the socks are seamless, as this can reduce the risk of chafing,’ advises Paterson.

• Consider the thickness

Do you prefer a cushioned sock or an invisible feel? Most run socks will offer extra padding in the areas of the foot that take the most impact – your toes, heels and arch (which is why running socks often have a right and a left foot). So think about your ideal thickness before you invest. ‘What you choose depends on personal preference, as both have advantages,’ says Paterson.

• Try before you buy

The golden rule ‘nothing new on race day’ definitely applies when it comes to socks, so make sure you’ve worn them several times in advance of any planned events. Some specialist running stores will also let you try on kit, so if you’re struggling to decide what suits your feet it’s worth asking if you can test them out for size and feel first.

How to take care of your running socks

Like most sports kit, taking care of your socks isn’t rocket science, but there are a few things you can do to maximise longevity.

‘It is best to turn your socks inside out before popping them in the washing machine and wash them on a cool setting and avoid fabric softener,’ advises Paterson. ‘Also make sure to air dry them as the heat from a tumble dryer could damage some of the specialist materials.’

Balega’s Blister Resist Quarter Socks prove that you can have great protection and a soft feel. Many socks are soft when you put them on, but that softness can mean they’re also moisture-absorbent or fragile.

These use a combination of mohair and Balega’s own moisture-wicking materials to create a plush yet durable option. Even on particularly swampy and wet runs, the Blister Resist never felt waterlogged or created hot spots (like wet socks can).

Yes, we’ll admit, toe socks look ridiculous. But, here’s a little secret: nobody sees them when they’re inside your shoe doing exactly what they’re supposed to – preventing blisters. The Liner sock maximises blister protection, which (in case you didn’t know) is what you need when you’re running a marathon.

Also available in amethyst in medium and large, or try the mini crew and no-show lengths.

Enertor Energy Run Socks

 Energy Run Socks

These run socks by British insole brand Enertor are among the most breathable we’ve tested, keeping our feet fresh and cool across various distances. They’ve a snug, comfortable fit that snaps to your foot and front and back tabs for full ankle protection from rubbing shoes.

A seamless toe box minimises chafe and while they’re not cushioned, they do have ‘NanoGLIDE’ tech, which reduces abrasions and the chance of blisters.

All this aside, the people at Enertor claim that thanks to a special energy converting yarn, these running socks can boost performance. Honestly, we’re not sure we can vouch for that, but Usain Bolt does wear their insoles, so who are we to say…

Feetures Elite Light Cushion Mini Crew Socks

Elite Light Cushion Mini Crew Socks

When it comes to waterproofing, these socks are not messing around. They come with a hydrostatic head (HH) rating (the measurement used to determine how much water pressure waterproof materials can take before they leak) of 20,000. Which is high, by the way.

It’s here – OpenAI has launched the GPT store and I have more questions than answers at this point. AI and disinformation make it to the top of the World Economic Forum’s list of global risks, ahead of climate change and researchers publish a paper on how they have linked brain cells to a computer chip.

These and more top tech stories on the “gosh Toto we’re not in Kansas anymore” edition of Hashtag Trending

I’m your host Jim Love, CIO of IT World Canada and Tech News Day in the US.

OpenAI has unveiled the GPT Store, a new platform for discovering and sharing custom versions of ChatGPT. Since the announcement of GPTs two months ago, over three million custom ChatGPTs have been created.

The GPT Store is accessible to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise users, and features a variety of GPTs developed by both partners and the community.

Users can browse through categories like DALL·E, writing, research, programming, education, and lifestyle.

The store will regularly highlight what it says are new and impactful GPTs, with initial offerings including things like a personalized trail recommender from AllTrails, a research tool from Consensus, and a coding tutor from Khan Academy and something called Books for finding – books.

It appears that anyone can save and submit a GPT but with three million already out there, it’s going to be interesting to see how they keep this organized.

They have topics and a top 5 in each topic area, which make you curious as to how these were prioritized.

There is a mention of usage policies and GPT brand guidelines as well as a review system for safety measures. The review system includes both human and automated review. As well, users are able to report GPTs.

There is a comment about not using your conversations with GPTs to improve their models but it’s put there in a way that makes you wonder if only Team and Enterprise customers get this treatment or if Plus members need to pay the extra five bucks a month to get that protection.

And once again, it’s going to be quite interesting to see how they manage the sheer volume.

OpenAI also plans to launch a revenue program for GPT builders based on user engagement.

The platform formerly known as Twitter, now referred to as “X,” recently suspended several prominent journalists and leftist figures without explanation. Among those affected were Ken Klippenstein of The Intercept, Steven Monacelli of Texas Observer, podcaster Rob Rousseau, and Alan MacLeod of MintPress News. These suspensions also extended to left-leaning accounts like the TrueAnon podcast and @zei_squirrel, a media-criticizing cartoon squirrel.

The affected users received no communication from X regarding the reason for their suspension, leading to speculation about political motivations behind these actions.

Notably, the suspensions were briefly lifted hours after initial reporting, following public outcry from figures like former British MP George Galloway.

X owner Elon Musk later attributed the bans to a routine spam filter sweep, but this explanation has not been universally accepted. This incident follows previous instances where X has banned reporters critical of Musk.

And curiously, this happened the day after Musk was featured on Canadian national news criticizing the Canadian Prime Minister for his treatment of a right wing journalist.

Fidelity National Financial, a major player in real estate services, has confirmed a significant data breach. In November, hackers accessed FNF systems, deploying malware and exfiltrating data on 1.3 million customers. The breach caused a week-long outage, severely disrupting the company’s operations and its subsidiaries, leaving customers unable to pay their mortgages. The specific nature of the stolen customer data hasn’t been disclosed, but FNF is offering credit monitoring and identity theft services to the affected individuals, indicating the sensitive nature of the breach.

The ransomware gang ALPHV, also known as BlackCat, claimed responsibility for the attack. They are known for using dark web leak sites to extort victims. The group removed FNF from its site, which sometimes indicates that a ransom has been paid. This incident is part of a recent wave of cyberattacks targeting the mortgage and loan industry. FNF’s response included notifying state attorneys general and regulators, and they have contained the cyberattack since November 26.

The World Economic Forum’s “Global Risks Report 2024” has identified artificial intelligence’s role in election disruption as the top global risk for the year. This concern surpasses climate change, war, and economic instability. The report, a collaboration between the WEF, Marsh McLennan, and Zurich Insurance Group, highlights AI-driven misinformation and disinformation as key factors contributing to societal polarization. Over 1,400 global risk experts, policymakers, and industry leaders contributed to this assessment.

Carolina Klint from Marsh McLennan emphasized the unprecedented influence AI models could have on voter behaviour.

But the report also forecasts a shift in risk focus over the next decade, with extreme weather conditions and significant changes in the political world order becoming more prominent. The WEF calls for global cooperation and the establishment of guardrails against emerging disruptive risks. The report’s release coincides with a critical election year globally, including major polls in the U.S., India, Russia, South Africa, and Mexico. The Eurasia Group’s separate 2024 global risks report also underscores the significance of the U.S. election and the challenges posed by “ungoverned AI.”

Researchers from Indiana University of Bloomington, the University of Florida, and the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine have made a groundbreaking advancement in AI hardware with the development of “Brainoware,” a human brain on a chip. This innovation, detailed in their paper “Brain Organoid Computing for Artificial Intelligence,” represents a significant leap in biocomputing.

I’ll note that the paper has not been peer reviewed yet, but I went with the story because there have been some experiments establishing the workability of the idea.

The team cultivated specialized stem cells into neuron clusters, or organoids, each less than a nanometer wide. These organoids, connected to a circuit board via electrodes, allow machine-learning algorithms to interpret their responses.

In a practical test, Brainoware reports achieving a 78 per cent accuracy in a speech recognition task, identifying speakers based on the organoid’s neural activity in response to electrical stimulation. While less accurate than traditional AI systems and requiring different resources like a CO2 incubator, Brainoware’s energy efficiency is part of the holy grail. One estimate is that the human brain uses about 20 watts. When we compare that to the reported 8 million watts used by current AI hardware, you can see why researchers say that “organoid intelligence” (OI) is the future of computing, powered by living human brain cells.

And once you get past the creepy factor, the other reason to pursue this may also be to study neurological conditions and cognitive aspects, and offer a new dimension to AI computations and learning.

The author of one article on this says, “while Elon Musk is installing chips inside human brains…researchers are planning to plant brains inside of chips.”  And there we are, back to the creepy factor again.

Time to book that trip!

The list of the world’s top travel destinations for 2024 has been revealed by TripAdvisor.

The premier locale for the third year running was Dubai, which “mixes modern culture with history, adventure with world-class shopping and entertainment,” according to TripAdvisor.

Travelers specifically noted that the City of Gold is a great choice for those who want to explore after dark and celebrate special or luxury occasions. Lots of people also enjoyed the safaris and 4WD tours around the United Arab Emirates city.

The popular travel guidance platform analyzed reviews and ratings collected over the past year to rank the top travel destination spots from all over the globe.

With 94% of Americans planning to travel as much, if not more, than last year, enthusiasm is high and this year’s list of Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations really reflects that excitement,” Sarah Firshein, Head of Editorial at Tripadvisor, said in a statement.

Of those planning to jet set, roughly three-fourths (71%) of Americans are planning to return to their favorite destinations this year — so start tracking your favored flight.

In second place on the TravelAdvisor list is Bali, the Indonesian island described as a “living postcard … that feels like a fantasy.”

The tropical spot entices people with an array of options for any kind of vacation as tourists enjoy being active while rafting, learning about the Island of the gods with cultural tours and relaxing at spas or in yoga classes.

For those wanting a more metropolitan visit, London is calling as the third-best travel option.

The British capital is the top spot Europe has to offer, attracting Americans to pop over across the pond for a mix of historical sites and modern attractions.

“From Shoreditch’s swaggering style to Camden’s punky vibe and chic Portobello Road, London is many worlds in one,” TripAdvisor wrote. “When it comes to London, the possibilities are endless.”

Hanoi, Vietnam, and Rome, Italy, also made the list, winning over travelers as the fourth and fifth most coveted vacation destinations in the world, respectively.

The list was rounded out with New York City, coming in to fill the 25th global spot but also nabbing the top honors for U.S. destinations for the second year in a row.

As Americans plan to revisit some of their favorite places, it comes as no surprise that travelers would return to the Big Apple as “conquering New York in one visit is impossible,” TravelAdvisor said, attracting more visitors to its nightlife, culture, history and food.

Firshein noted that many of the winners “indicate that our community has an unbridled appetite for destinations with vibrant arts-and-culture scenes, top-notch restaurants, and seemingly limitless attractions and experiences.”

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Tempo English compiled three popular news on the platform, which include countries with the strongest military in the world, MTI commenting on the Transport Minister blaming souvenir shops for Bali traffic jam, and New Year’s euphoria in Jakarta leaving damaged parks around HI Roundabout.

Check out the following list of today’s top 3 news on Tempo English:

1. Countries with the Strongest Military in the World, Indonesia Ranks 13th

National defense is an important aspect that needs to be maintained by a government. According to the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Defense Regulation Number 6 of 2012, national defense is all efforts to uphold state sovereignty, the territorial integrity of the Republic of Indonesia, and the safety of the entire nation. One of the general national defense policies is military defense.

Each country has different military strengths. Its existence is none other than to protect territorial integrity from all threats from within and outside the country. A country with a strong military defense system can maintain stability and security and improve its position in the international world. So, which countries have the strongest military currently?

2. Transport Minister Blames Souvenir Shops for Bali Traffic Jam; MTI Comments

Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi attributed the traffic congestion on the Bali Mandara toll road on Friday evening, Dec. 29, to the souvenir shop. Deddy Herlambang, a transportation observer from the Indonesian Transportation Society (MTI), commented on the minister’s statement.

“In my opinion, the existence of souvenir shops is not a substantial problem, because the major problem is the lack of mass public transportation as a feeder to Bali Airport,” Deddy told Tempo on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Deddy acknowledged that the government provided a shuttle bus to I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. However, he emphasized that the government needs to mobilize many fleets so that travelers will have many options for departures and do not have to rely on rental cars.

3. New Year’s Euphoria in Jakarta Leaves Damaged Parks Around HI Roundabout

The 2024 New Year’s celebration on Sunday to the early hours of Monday left damaged parks around the HI Roundabout.

The unfortunate leftovers of the festivities become the homework of the Parks and City Forest Office of Jakarta.

“We are still repairing and tidying up the parks, especially regarding the roads and amenities,” said the office head Bayu Meghantara on Tuesday as quoted by Antara.
